The Company was founded in July 1989 to provide freight forwarding services to a large group of UK general haulage, warehousing and parcel distribution companies. In March 1992 the Company was purchased from that group by its management and has been totally independent ever since.

In September 2001, the Coleshill, West Midland head office moved to it's existing premises which comprise of a two acre site wholly owned by the Company. In June 2003 International Forwarding became a member of the Palletways overnight UK distribution network. The Company has a strong balance sheet and the current sales turnover is approximately £8M and 100,000 consignments are handled each year.

Senior Management

The principal shareholder is Richard Ford who has more than forty years experience in transport, warehousing and logistics.

Nigel Parsons, Sales Director, is responsible for the commercial development of the company and is a member of a family which owns a long established Midlands based haulage company. He has a wide experience of commerce and industry both in the Midlands and throughout the UK.

Rob Pike is the Managing Director, and also has specific responsibilities for the Logistics, Warehouse and transport operations.

Trisha Heffernan, Operations Director, first served in the Dublin office of the Company and has held several senior management positions in the industry.

Chris Wood, Director, has overall responsibility for the Company’s IT requirements, and has specific industry experience in this area and also supply chain technology systems.

Roy Baker, who is a part–time Director, acts as a consultant to the Board, drawing on his extensive experience in excess of forty years in the freight forwarding business, including being UK National Chairman of BIFA (British International Freight Association) from 1994 until 1996. Roy is also a Vice President of FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association.
